About Pre-luanch
Pre-luanch
Track 1
When starting this album I thought to myself what is the one thing that left the biggest impression on me musically when I used to rave in the 80s and early 90s growing up in Los Angeles. It was the classic trance groove with the Apollo space launch royalty free heritage audio. The mystic spooky and beautiful adventure of the rave scene and it's music was the first inspiration for this track.
Originally this track was to be titled Pre-luanch Fear but I changed it because I didn't want fear to be forever associated with this track or this album.
When I listen to this track I think it sets the stage for tracks two and three beautifully. I also marvel at the professionalism of the NASA Apollo countdown you can hear in this track and this album. For the ghostly guitar I used a Fender Squier and ran the effects through a DAW program.
I felt that a guitar with heavy distortion would portray the rumbling of rocket engines during a launch. I then combined that with the driving beat to help escape the atmosphere. That was the embarking of Pre-luanch and the album After. As I created each track and finished it consecutively. Finishing one track before I started another till the final track 14 viewing this album almost as a concept album, carrying the vibe from start to finish.
